Enhanced Digital Well Log Data

Get up and running immediately with better data than most long-standing competitors. Enhancements mean no delays for acquiring data generally available only in analog form or lengthy conversions from field tape formats. Identify a few wells of particular interest and, at no cost, we will send you these as a sample.

Depth Shifted.-Porosity and gamma ray curves are depth shifted to the resistivity curves. This is especially important in Cook Inlet where key wells are older and were logged separately for resistivity, porosity and other curves. Before shifting curves are routinely off by 4 feet and may be off much more.

Header Data.-Complete header data by run is part of the LAS file.

Core Data.-Porosity, permeability, etc are rendered as a depth-shifted well log curves so cross plots of log values vs. core values can be done instantly. Sidewall core, core plugs and whole core analysis are differentiated.

SP Curve.-This is provided in both its original form and straightened to the shale baseline.

Volume of Shale Curve.-Make meaningful cross sections the first week. This curve is based on the gamma ray curve for the North Slope. In Cook Inlet there are so many radioactive volcanic clasts in most sandstones that the gamma ray is a poor sand/shale indicator. For Cook Inlet, the Volume of Shale Curve is based on the SP curve, with attention paid to the caliper and other curves in the section above the Hemlock where connate water/filtrate contrast is low and the SP has little lateral movement.

Mnemonics.-These are standardized, eliminating differences in the names of the same curves from different logging companies. Our standard mnemonics can be converted to mnemonics specified by you prior to delivery.

Updates.-The database is updated with new wildcat wells annually.

Format and Delivery.-All data is delivered in LAS 2.0 format. Small orders are turned around in 1 to 3 days and delivered by Internet. Larger orders are on CD or DVD.
